Advanced VERBS - Introduction
Introduction to the Advanced Verbs Program
Welcome to the Advanced Verbs Program—a structured, engaging, and developmental approach to helping children expand their language abilities through storytelling, sentence building, and temporal concepts.
This program is designed for children who already have a foundational understanding of basic verbs—ideally having completed the Beginner Verbs Program and the Calendar Program. These foundational tools are essential; without them, this advanced level may feel overwhelming. In particular, the Calendar Program introduces children to critical time concepts such as yesterday, today, and tomorrow, which are essential for success in this stage.
In the Advanced Verbs Program, your child will:
- Learn to describe actions and routines using proper verb tenses.
- Answer sequencing questions using “before” and “after.”
- Use complete sentences to express themselves clearly and meaningfully.
- Practice storytelling in a way that encourages logical sequencing and coherent structure—a skill crucial for success in higher grades and essay writing.
This program is the culmination of years of therapeutic experience and combines all the core language-building strategies developed across earlier programs. Its goal is to empower children to describe not just what they see, but what they do—what others are doing—and to organize those events in a way that reflects real-life storytelling and logical thinking.
Included in the program are:
- Therapy session videos where you’ll watch me working directly with students, guiding them through each step.
- Visual strategies, prompts, and techniques that support every learning stage.
- A program summary and downloadable materials
Remember, the most requested skill by parents and educators alike is the ability to talk about a child’s day and retell stories. This program is built to develop exactly that, helping your child communicate with clarity, confidence, and creativity.
Let’s make storytelling and expressive language a joyful part of your child’s everyday life—building the skills they’ll carry into school and beyond.
