The Prepositions Program

Beginners

When a child seeks sensory input by requesting adult's hugs, wants you to carry him, falls/bumps into walls or drops things constantly; it could mean that he is unaware of his own capabilities for body movements in space in regards to objects around him. This program starts from understanding where his own little body is in space with very simple words. He then will learn how objects relate to him and finally how objects relate to each other.

Following directions and giving directions to others has been one of the funnest activities I've watched children do. Imagine a child telling you to get "in" a box and laughing because you do! Words become powerful and meaningful, children want to use these little words over and over extending their sentences when speaking, then improving listening to longer verbal instructions you give him.

Children learn to follow and give directions with prepositions

Children learn to tell you where they are!

Children learn to describe pictures using more words in sentences

Children learn to answer "Where?" questions with ease

Example Title

I use two miniature tables and a boy figurine for the first steps. This is just an example. You can use two real chairs and a stuffed animal toy.

A big box!

You will need a big box where you and the child can fit inside it! It's the best part of this program! I had a blast following the simple step with it!

Take photographs!

You will be taking pictures of the child and others during the activities suggested in the simple steps. Get ready to be laughing and watching the child be surprised with these!
